David was the founder member of Prosper Independent Financial Advisers Ltd. He created the business in March 2003 with a view to targeting the "over 50 "sector. His wealth of financial services experience spans over 30 years during which time he has operated within both the Banking and the Independent Financial Advice sector.

Prior to setting up Prosper IFA Ltd he was UK Director for a National IFA firm in charge of over 150 advisers, managers and Directors. His nine years working for the National IFA firm specialising in the retirement sector gave him a real insight into the industry and in particular what clients in or approaching retirement are looking for from their advisers.

An Associate of the Personal Finance Society and “Chartered Financial Planner” he actively contributes to debates with regards to driving through professional standards within the financial services industry.

As one of only a handful of advisers within the UK to achieve a "Distinction" within the Advanced Financial Planning Tax and Trust qualification, he uses his knowledge to help investors both private, trustees and corporate to maximise returns whilst monitoring taxation and risk profiles.

In addition, David holds the “Advanced Diploma” in financial planning as well as a specialist qualification in Long Term Care advice which enables him to deal with the elderly that are contemplating residential or nursing care provisions.

Our Areas of Expertise

When you retire you still need food and shelter as an absolute minimum, but of course you will want to maintain the lifestyle to which you have become accustomed, so unless you can guarantee a large inheritance or windfall, then you need to provide yourself with a secure income for the rest of your life.
When someone talks about savings and saving money, it could be referring to a piggy bank on the mantelpiece or a high interest deposit account. Savings are effectively cash or cash instruments, such as deposit accounts, term bonds etc.
Wealth Preservation
Wealth, just like your health, must be carefully preserved. Your assets need to be protected against the potential threats of erosion by taxation, the effects of inflation and investment risks.
Long Term Care
The whole process of dealing with an elderly relative who needs care can be difficult, emotive and stressful. At Prosper we specialise in giving advice on Long Term Care solutions by working closely with the family members concerned.
